Bharti Airtel slips after Q3 results

Bharti Airtel fell 0.91% to Rs 490 at 9:21 IST on BSE after consolidated net profit fell 16.50% to Rs 560.70 crore on 12.93% decline in net sales to Rs 20318.60 crore in Q3 December 2017 over Q3 December 2016.

The result was announced after market hours yesterday, 18 January 2018.

Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 56.65 points, or 0.16% to 35,316.94.

On the BSE, 1.27 lakh shares were traded in the counter so far, compared with average daily volumes of 84.82 lakh shares in the past one quarter. The stock had hit a high of Rs 494 and a low of Rs 485 so far during the day. The stock hit a 52-week high of Rs 565 on 3 November 2017. The stock hit a 52-week low of Rs 304.10 on 25 January 2017.

The stock had underperformed the market over the past 30 days till 18 January 2018, falling 6.45% compared with 4.39% rise in the Sensex. The scrip had also underperformed the market in past one quarter, rising 4.36% as against Sensex's 8.86% rise. The scrip had outperformed the market in past one year, rising 56.22% as against Sensex's 29.12% rise.

The large-cap company has equity capital of Rs 1998.70 crore. Face value per share is Rs 5.

Bharti Airtel's consolidated earnings before interest taxes depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) fell 11.5% to Rs 7587 crore in Q3 December 2017 over Q3 December 2016.
