The broad market depicted weakness in early afternoon trade. The two key benchmark indices viz. the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, and the 50-unit CNX Nifty languished in negative zone. At 12:17 IST, the Sensex was off 28.59 points or 0.11% at 25,173.31. The decline for 50-unit CNX Nifty CNX Nifty was higher than the Sensex's fall in percentage terms. The Nifty was currently off 15.80 points or 0.21% at 7,639.25. On BSE, there were almost two losers against every gainer. 1,544 shares declined and 793 shares rose. Overseas cues were negative. Chinese stocks led decline in Asian markets after China cut its GDP growth rate for 2014 to 7.3% from 7.4% and as mixed US jobs report for August 2015 did little to quell investor uncertainty on the timing of the US Federal Reserve's first interest rate hike in a decade.
