Consumer goods stocks were trading with losses, with the S&P BSE Consumer Discretionary Goods & Services index falling 12.1 points or 0.31% at 3832.93 at 13:49 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Consumer Discretionary Goods & Services index, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (down 8.59%), Borosil Glass Works Ltd (down 5.78%),Arvind Fashions Ltd (down 5.37%),Indo Count Industries Ltd (down 5.33%),Housing Development & Infrastructure Ltd (down 4.94%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Emami Realty Ltd (down 4.92%), Vipul Ltd (down 4.9%), MT Educare Ltd (down 4.84%), Talwalkars Healthclubs Ltd (down 4.62%), and Exide Industries Ltd (down 4.59%).
On the other hand, Swan Energy Ltd (up 19.97%), L G Balakrishnan & Bros Ltd (up 9.99%), and GNA Axles Ltd (up 9.5%) moved up.
At 13:49 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 148.2 or 0.36% at 40937.58.
The Nifty 50 index was up 41.9 points or 0.35% at 12021.55.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 70.56 points or 0.49% at 14616.07.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 31.58 points or 0.63% at 5060.12.
On BSE,1195 shares were trading in green, 1099 were trading in red and 184 were unchanged.
