Currency In Circulation Rises 10.3% This Fiscal

The Reserve Bank Of India (RBI) reported that currency in circulation edged up by 0.5% on the week to stand at Rs 23.57 lakh crore as on 21st February 2020. The central bank noted further that the overall reserve money stayed flat on the week to Rs 29.77 lakh crore. Currency in circulation rose around 11.9% on a year ago basis compared to 18.2% jump at the same time last year. In the current fiscal, the currency in circulation has risen by 10.3% so far while the reserve money grew by 7.5%.
