Cyient jumps after strong Q2 results

Cyient rose 6.66% to Rs 478 at 10:46 IST on BSE after consolidated net profit rose 31.6% to Rs 90.20 crore on 8.2% increase in revenues to Rs 672.40 crore in Q2 September 2014 over Q1 June 2014.

The result was announced on Wednesday, 15 October 2014.

Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex was up 3.59 points, or 0.01%, to 26,352.92.

On BSE, so far 35,000 shares were traded in the counter, compared with an average volume of 13,844 shares in the past one quarter.

The stock hit a high of Rs 512.20 so far during the day, which is also a record high for the counter. The stock hit a low of Rs 468.20 so far during the day. The stock hit a 52-week low of Rs 218 on 23 October 2013.

The stock had outperformed the market over the past one month till 13 October 2014, falling 0.34% compared with 2.50% fall in the Sensex. The scrip had also outperformed the market in past one quarter, rising 35.53% as against Sensex's 5.43% rise.

The mid-cap company has an equity capital of Rs 56.07 crore. Face value per share is Rs 5.

On a consolidated basis, Cyient's operating profit rose 23.3% at Rs 108.10 crore in Q2 September 2014 over Q1 June 2014. Operating margin rose 197 basis points to 16.1% in Q2 September 2014 as against 14.1% in Q1 June 2014.

The company said its business continues to generate strong Free Cash Flow (FCF). FCF as percent of EBITDA for the quarter stood at 46%.

The company's cash balance, including liquid investments, were at Rs 718.40 crore as on 30 September 2014.
