Net outflow of Rs 566.03 crore on 30 December 2016
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold stocks worth a net Rs 566.03 crore into the secondary equity markets on 30 December 2016, compared with their net outflow of Rs 655.21 crore during the preceding trading session on 29 December 2016. The net outflow of Rs 566.03 crore on 30 December 2016 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 2230.64 crore and gross sales of Rs 2796.67 crore. On that day, the Sensex gained 260.31 points or 0.99% to settle at 26,626.46, its highest closing level since 13 December 2016.
There was a net outflow of Rs 112.84 crore from the category 'primary markets & others' on 30 December 2016, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 0.49 crore and gross sales of Rs 113.33 crore.
FPIs have sold stocks worth a net Rs 8960.36 crore into the secondary equity markets in December 2016. FPIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 12094.42 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2016. They sold shares worth a net Rs 4361.67 crore into the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2015.
There has been a net inflow of Rs 784.07 crore from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' in December 2016. The net inflow from FPIs into category 'primary markets & others' has totaled Rs 8471.76 crore in calendar year 2016. There was net inflow of Rs 22167.82 crore from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' in calendar year 2015.
