Net inflow of Rs 187.73 crore on 13 December 2017

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought stocks worth a net Rs 157.71 crore from the secondary equity markets on 13 December 2017, compared with net inflow of Rs 860.56 crore on 12 December 2017. On 13 December 2017, the Sensex rose 193.66 points or 0.59% to settle at 33,246.70, its highest closing level since 11 December 2017. FPIs bought shares for the second straight day.

The net inflow of Rs 187.73 crore on 13 December 2017 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 6080.46 crore and gross sales of Rs 5892.73 crore.

There was a net inflow of Rs 211.10 crore into the 'primary market & others' category on 13 December 2017, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 228.97 crore and gross sales of Rs 17.87 crore.

FPIs have sold stocks worth a net Rs 4001.63 crore into the secondary equity markets in December 2017 so far (till 13 December 2017). They had purchased stocks worth a net Rs 9703.50 crore from the secondary equity markets in November 2017.

FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 9111.77 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2017 so far (till 13 December 2017). They had purchased shares worth a net Rs 12094.42 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2016.

FPIs have bought stocks worth a net Rs 1019.62 crore from the primary market & others' category in December 2017 so far (till 13 December 2017). They had purchased stocks worth a net Rs 10024.15 crore from the primary market & others' category in November 2017.

FPIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 45042.37 crore from the 'primary markets & others' category in calendar year 2017 so far (till 13 December 2017). The net inflow from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' had totaled Rs 8471.76 crore in calendar year 2016.
