Net outflow of Rs 228.43 crore on 20 November 2017
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold stocks worth a net Rs 228.43 crore into the secondary equity markets on 20 November 2017, compared with net inflow of Rs 1345.20 crore on 17 November 2017. On 17 November 2017, the Sensex rose 17.10 points or 0.05% to settle at 33,359.90, its highest closing level since 6 November 2017.
The net outflow of Rs 228.43 crore on 20 November 2017 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4749.38 crore and gross sales of Rs 4977.81 crore.
There was a net inflow of Rs 11.13 crore into the 'primary market & others' category on 20 November 2017, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 11.13 crore and nil gross sales.
FPIs have bought stocks worth a net Rs 11200.65 crore from the secondary equity markets in November 2017 so far (till 20 November 2017). They had sold stocks worth a net Rs 4949.02 crore into the secondary equity markets in October 2017.
FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 14610.55 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2017 so far (till 20 November 2017). They had purchased shares worth a net Rs 12094.42 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2016.
FPIs have bought stocks worth a net Rs 4366.29 crore from the primary market & others' category in November 2017 so far (till 20 November 2017). They had bought stocks worth a net Rs 8004.46 crore from the primary market & others' category in October 2017.
FPIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 38364.89 crore from the 'primary markets & others' category in calendar year 2017 so far (till 20 November 2017). The net inflow from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' had totaled Rs 8471.76 crore in calendar year 2016.
