Gujarat Gas Company rose 1.95% to Rs 784.50 at 10:27 IST on BSE, with the stock extending its recent steep rally.

Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 36.63 points or 0.13% at 27,469.83.

On BSE, so far 4.75 lakh shares were traded in the counter as against average daily volume of 75,853 shares in the past one quarter.

The stock hit a high of Rs 812.55 so far during the day, which is a record high for the counter. The stock hit a low of Rs 759.65 so far during the day. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs 219.25 on 5 March 2014.

The stock had outperformed the market over the past one month till 23 December 2014, surging 47.84% compared with the Sensex's 2.92% fall. The scrip also outperformed the market in past one quarter, jumping 53.92% as against Sensex's 2.73% rise.

The mid-cap company has equity capital of Rs 25.65 crore. Face value per share is Rs 2.

Shares of Gujarat Gas Company have rallied a whopping 44.76% in five trading sessions from a recent low of Rs 541.90 on 17 December 2014.

Gujarat Gas Company's consolidated net profit fell 35.13% to Rs 77.25 crore on 18.37% decline in net sales to Rs 676.07 crore in the quarter ended 30 September 2014 over the quarter ended 30 September 2013.
