Gujarat Industries Power slips after reporting flat Q1 bottom line

Gujarat Industries Power Company fell 1.21% to Rs 90.10 at 10:19 IST after net profit rose 1.74% to Rs 54.97 crore on 4.56% rise in total income to Rs 358.30 crore in Q1 June 2016 over Q1 June 2015.

The company announced its Q1 result during market hours today, 29 August 2016.

Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 18.26 points or 0.07% to 27,753.22

On BSE, so far 4,383 shares were traded in the counter as against average daily volume of 17,099 shares in the past one quarter. The stock hit a high of Rs 90.45 and a low of Rs 89.15 so far during the day. The stock had hit a 52-week high of Rs 99 on 13 July 2016. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs 67 on 8 September 2015. The stock had outperformed the market over the past 30 days till 26 August 2016, rising 1.16% compared with Sensex's 1.51% fall. The scrip also outperformed the market in past one quarter, gaining 9.03% as against Sensex's 4.23% rise.

The power generation firm has equity capital of Rs 151.25 crore. Face value per share is Rs 10.
