Trading of Nifty 50 index futures on the Singapore stock exchange indicates that the Nifty could rise 16 points at the opening bell.
Overseas, Asian stocks were trading higher tracking overnight gains in US equities. US stocks rose Wednesday as tech rallied and surging oil pushed energy shares higher. US financial markets will be closed Thursday for the Thanksgiving Day holiday and see an early close Friday.
Back home, the market declined for a second straight session yesterday, 21 November 2018, tracking mixed cues from other Asian markets and a renewed bout of selling on Wall Street. However, a steep fall in crude oil prices overnight on excess supply concerns supported the indices at lower levels. The Sensex fell 274.71 points or 0.77% to settle at 35,199.80.
The trading activity on that day showed that the foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold shares worth a net Rs 1652.04 crore yesterday, 21 November 2018, as per provisional data released by the stock exchanges. Domestic institutional investors (DIIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 606.73 crore yesterday, 21 November 2018, as per provisional data.
