Kalpena Industries announces fire accident at Flexible Packaging Unit in West Bengal

On 19 October 2014

Kalpena Industries announced that the Flexible Packaging Unit of the Company at Dankuni, West Bengal has been completely gutted due to devastating fire caused by, perhaps, short circuit. Twenty Two Fire brigades were pressed into service and even then it took more than 48 hours to douse the fire. However, by that time the factory was completely gutted. This mishap took place on 19 October 2014 sometime around 8 a.m.

However, all units producing PVC compounds are functioning normally.
