L&T wins 'large' order from NVDA

The water & effluent treatment business of L&T Construction has secured an EPC order from Narmada Valley Development Authority (NVDA), Government of Madhya Pradesh to execute the Indira Sagar-Parwati Phase III & IV Lift Micro Irrigation Project.

This is a repeat order from NVDA, for whom L&T is already executing the Parwati Phase I & II and various other projects. This new project envisages provision of water for micro-irrigation to 1 Lac hectares of cultivable command area in the Sehore and Shajapur districts of Madhya Pradesh by lifting 32.04 Cumecs of water from the Indira Sagar Project Reservoir. The scope includes survey, design, procurement, construction and installing of pumping system, raising and distribution pipeline networks, electrical power transmission lines and automation system by SCADA.

As per the company's classification, the valuation of the 'large' order lies between Rs 2,500 crore and Rs 5,000 crore.

Shares of Larsen & Toubro (L&T) were currently down 0.32% at Rs 1361.05.

On a consolidated basis, L&T reported 15.2% jump in net profit to Rs 2352.12 crore on a 5.9% rise in net sales to Rs 36242.68 crore in Q3 December 2019 over Q3 December 2018.

L&T is a multinational company engaged in technology, engineering, construction, manufacturing and financial services.
