Crompton Greaves rose 0.09% to Rs 174.45 at 12:09 IST on BSE after the company said it has won a euro 17 million contract from Gas Natural Fenosa, to supply ZIV single and three phase smart meters.
The company made the announcement during market hours today, 28 September 2015.
Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 22.44 points or 0.09% at 25,841.06.
On BSE, so far 86,000 shares were traded in the counter as against average daily volume of 3.20 lakh shares in the past one quarter.
The stock was volatile. The stock rose as much as 2.26% at the day's high of Rs 178.25 so far during the day. The stock fell as much as 0.97% at the day's low of Rs 172.60 so far during the day. The stock had hit a 52-week high of Rs 210.95 on 9 October 2014. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs 152.85 on 8 September 2015.
The stock had outperformed the market over the past one month till 24 September 2015, surging 8.73% compared with Sensex's 0.47% rise. The scrip had also outperformed the market in past one quarter, jumping 7.36% as against Sensex's 6.73% fall.
The large-cap company has equity capital of Rs 125.35 crore. Face value per share is Rs 2.
On consolidated basis, Crompton Greaves' net profit dropped 75% to Rs 16.01 crore on 8% decline in net sales to Rs 3165.80 crore in Q1 June 2015 over Q1 June 2014.
