MphasiS lost 4.43% to Rs 401.95 at 10:49 IST on BSE on turning ex-dividend today, 22 January 2014, for a final dividend of Rs 17 per share for the year ended 31 October 2013.
Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 36.75 points or 0.17% at 21,287.87
On BSE, 8,759 shares were traded in the counter as against average daily volume of 10,464 shares in the past one quarter.
The stock hit a high of Rs 407.25 and a low of Rs 401.10 so far during the day. The stock had hit a 52-week high of Rs 513 on 30 May 2013. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs 335 on 13 February 2013.
The stock had outperformed the market over the past one month till 21 January 2014, rising 3% compared with the Sensex's 0.81% rise. The scrip, however, underperformed the market in past one quarter, sliding 5.9% as against Sensex's 1.71% rise.
The mid-cap IT firm has equity capital of Rs 210.14 crore. Face value per share is Rs 10.
Before turning ex-dividend, the stock offered a dividend yield of 4.04% based on the closing price of Rs 420.60 on Tuesday, 21 January 2014.
MphasiS had reported 1.25% fall in consolidated net profit to Rs 190.22 crore on 2.12% growth in total income to Rs 1616.18 crore in Q4 October 2013 over Q3 July 2013.
MphasiS' board of directors had on 5 December 2013, recommended final dividend of Rs 17 per share for the year ended 31 October 2013.
