Neyveli Lignite Corp gallops after good Q4 outcome

Neyveli Lignite Corporation jumped 14.6% to Rs 84 at 12:36 IST on BSE after net profit rose 36.9% to Rs 676.81 crore on 13.7% rise in total income to Rs 2204.45 crore in Q4 March 2015 over Q4 March 2014.

The result was announced after market hours on Friday, 29 May 2015.

Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex was up 58.91 points, or 0.21%, to 27,887.35

On BSE, so far 4.26 lakh shares were traded in the counter, compared with an average volume of 21,157 shares in the past one quarter.

The stock hit a high of Rs 87.95 and a low of Rs 75.50 so far during the day. The stock hit a 52-week high of Rs 108.20 on 10 June 2014. The stock hit a 52-week low of Rs 65.25 on 27 March 2015.

The large-cap company has an equity capital of Rs 1677.71 crore. Face value per share is Rs 10.

Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC)'s principal activities are exploration of lignite mines and power generation.
