India VIX rises 2.6% as indices correct.
The Nifty January 2020 futures were at 14,178, a premium of 31.75 points compared with the Nifty's spot closing of 14,146.25.In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index fell 53.25 or 0.38% to 14,146.25.
Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment was Rs 39.30 lakh crore compared with Rs 27.72 lakh crore in the previous session.
The NSE's India VIX, a gauge of market's expectation of volatility over the near term, rose 2.61% to 20.995.
The Nifty option chain for 28 January 2020 expiry showed maximum call OI of 19.93 lakh contracts at the 14,000 strike price. Maximum put OI of 25.93 lakh contracts was seen at 12,500 strike price.
RIL, Bharti Airtel and ICICI Bank were the top traded stock futures contracts in F&O segment for January expiry.
The January 2020 F&O contracts will expire on 28 January 2020.
