Options chain suggests a trading range between 11,000 and 12,000 levels for Nifty in October series.
The Nifty October 2019 futures were at 11,328.50, a discount 1.3 points compared with the Nifty's closing of 11,329.80 in the cash market.
Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment was Rs 8.52 lakh crore compared with Rs 9.49 lakh crore reported in the previous session.
In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index rose 24.75 points or 0.22% to settle at 11,329.80. The index closed above its 200-day simple moving average placed at 11,270.88.
The NSE's India VIX, a gauge of market's expectation of volatility over the near term, rose 1.42% at 17.385.
On the options front, the Nifty option chain for 31 October 2019 expiry showed maximum call open interest (OI) of 24.88 lakh contracts at the 12,000 strike price. Maximum put OI of 30.59 lakh contracts was seen at 11,000 strike price. Options data suggested a trading range between 11,000 and 12,000 levels for the Nifty in October series.
Infosys, State Bank of India and Axis Bank were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE. Infosys October 2019 futures were at 781.85, compared with spot closing price of 786.3. SBI October 2019 futures were at 255.4 compared with spot closing price of 255.3. Axis Bank October 2019 futures were at 686.45, compared with spot closing price of 684.
The October 2019 F&O contracts expire on 31 October 2019.
