Quick Wrap: Nifty IT Index gains 6.13%, NIFTY jumps 2.51%

Nifty IT index closed up 6.13% at 11865.05 today. The index has slipped 29.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, NIIT Technologies Ltd added 17.91%, Infosys Ltd rose 12.03% and Hexaware Technologies Ltd gained 8.07%. The Nifty IT index has fallen 23.00% over last one year compared to the 31.29% slide in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty MNC index gained 3.87% and Nifty FMCG index gained 3.24% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 increased 2.51% to close at 7801.05 while the SENSEX recorded a gain of 2.67% to close at 26674.03 today.
