Quick Wrap: Nifty Metal Index declines 3.41%, NIFTY Tumbles 1.08%

Nifty Metal index ended down 3.41% at 3028.45 today. The index is down 6.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, JSW Steel Ltd slipped 5.02%, Vedanta Ltd shed 4.43% and Tata Steel Ltd dropped 4.29%. The Nifty Metal index is down 23.00% over last one year compared to the 3.35% surge in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Auto index is down 3.05% and Nifty PSU Bank index has dropped 1.90% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has dropped 1.08% to close at 10792.5 while the SENSEX is down 1.00% to close at 35891.52 today.
