Nifty Metal index ended down 2.94% at 2326.55 today. The index has gained 5.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Vedanta Ltd shed 4.56%, Coal India Ltd fell 3.79% and Hindalco Industries Ltd dropped 3.77%. The Nifty Metal index has fallen 35.00% over last one year compared to the 4.20% increase in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Media index gained 2.85% and Nifty Energy index increased 1.34% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has declined 0.40% to close at 11314 while the SENSEX has dropped 0.52% to close at 38106.87 today.
