Rupee gains

At 61.88/89 per dollar

Indian rupee gained on Wednesday (18 December 2013) at 61.88/89 per dollar against its previous close of 62.01/02 on Tuesday, on selling of US currency by exporters ahead of the RBI's policy review and a higher opening in the domestic equity market.
