Rupee gains

At 60.42/43 per dollar

Rupee closed higher on Tuesday (29 April 2014) at 60.42/43 per dollar, against its previous close of 60.64/65 per dollar on Monday.

The gain is attributed to large dollar sales from companies, including exporters coupled with strong Asian currencies. However, the gains were capped by fall in domestic share market.
