Nifty January futures at small premium
The Nifty January 2018 futures traded at 10814, a premium of 3 points over Nifty's spot closing of 10817 in the cash market.
Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment surged to Rs 16.57 lakh crore, compared with the turnover of Rs 9.10 lakh crore registered in the previous session.
In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index rose 28.45 points or 0.26% to settle at 10817, its record closing high.
HDFC Bank, State Bank of India, Yes Bank, ICICI Bank and HDFC were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE. HDFC Bank January 2018 futures traded at 1930, at a discount over spot closing of 1933.05. State Bank of India January 2018 futures traded at 304, at a premium over spot closing of 304.80.
Yes Bank January 2018 futures traded at 345.80, at a discount over spot closing of 346.35. ICICI Bank January 2018 futures traded at 346.05, near spot closing of 346. Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC) January 2018 futures traded at 1895.65, near spot closing of 1895.
The January 2018 F&O contracts expire on 25 January 2018.
