Umang Dairies spurted 16.32% to Rs 39.20 at 12:54 IST on BSE after net profit surged 78.50% to Rs 3.57 crore on 59.58% rise in net sales to Rs 87.13 crore in Q4 March 2014 over Q4 March 2013.
The result was announced after trading hours on Tuesday, 13 May 2014.
Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex was down 91.25 points, or 0.38%, to 23,779.98 .
On BSE, so far 1.57 lakh shares were traded in the counter, compared with an average volume of 13,331 shares in the past one quarter.
The stock hit a high of Rs 40.35 and a low of Rs 36 so far during the day. The stock hit a 52-week high of Rs 42.80 on 30 May 2013. The stock hit a 52-week low of Rs 22.55 on 7 August 2013.
The stock had underperformed the market over the past one month till 13 May 2014, falling 2.32% compared with 5.49% rise in the Sensex. The scrip had also underperformed the market in past one quarter, rising 9.24% as against Sensex's 18.21% rise.
The small-cap company has an equity capital of Rs 11 crore. Face value per share is Rs 5.
Umang Dairies' net profit declined 51.54% to Rs 5.96 crore on 23.76% rise in net sales to Rs 192.15 crore in the year ended March 2014 over the year ended March 2013.
Umang Dairies is a dairy product manufacturing company. It produces and markets skimmed milk powder, butter, pure ghee, varieties of dairy whiteners and premixes compatible with tea & coffee vending machines and liquid milk in poly pouches for retail and institutional customers.
