Volumes jump at Dewan Housing Finance counter

Just Dial, KPIT Technologies, Housing Development Finance Corporation and Jet Airways (India) are among the other stocks to see a surge in volumes on BSE today, 4 October 2013.

Dewan Housing Finance Corporation clocked volume of 5.31 lakh shares by 13:54 IST on BSE, a 29.88-times surge over two-week average daily volume of 18,000 shares. The stock lost 2.69% at Rs 105 after a block deal of 5 lakh shares was executed on BSE at Rs 106 per share at 11:34 IST. The block deal constitutes 0.38% of Dewan Housing Finance Corporation's equity.

Just Dial notched up volume of 90,000 shares, a 6.25-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 14,000 shares. The stock spurted 7.23% to Rs 918.15. The stock hit a record high of Rs 950 in the intraday trade today, 4 October 2013.

KPIT Technologies saw volume of 10.76 lakh shares, a 6.16-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 1.75 lakh shares. The stock rose 3.6% to Rs 138 after a block deal of 7.97 lakh shares was executed on BSE at Rs 140 per share at 10:42 IST. The block deal constitutes 0.41% of KPIT Technologies' equity.

Housing Development Finance Corporation saw volume of 2.65 lakh shares, a 1.96-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 1.35 lakh shares. The stock lost 0.65% at Rs 797.15.

Jet Airways (India) saw volume of 10.94 lakh shares, a 1.85-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 5.93 lakh shares. The stock rose 2.25% at Rs 395.30 after the Union Cabinet on Thursday, 3 October 2013, cleared the company's proposed sale of 24% equity to Abu Dhabi-based Etihad Airways.
