Wockhardt, Siemens, Steel Authority of India and Dishman Pharmaceuticals & Chemicals are among the other stocks to see a surge in volumes on BSE today, 7 November 2013.

Magma Fincorp clocked volume of 26.46 lakh shares by 13:42 IST on BSE, a 143.57-times surge over two-week average daily volume of 18,000 shares. The stock jumped 9.82% at Rs 76.60.

Wockhardt notched up volume of 8.11 lakh shares, a 5.43-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 1.49 lakh shares. The stock surged 9.45% at Rs 514.90 after the UK health regulator allowed its Kadaiya, Nani Daman facility to manufacture and supply most of the products approved to be produced at the unit. The announcement was made after market hours on Wednesday, 6 November 2013.

Wockhardt said that UK's Medicine and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (UKMHRA) has allowed the company to manufacture and supply most of the products manufactured at the company's facility at Kadaiya in Nani Daman and assessed to be critical to public health. As a result the net impact on the annualised consolidated revenue is expected to be less than 1 million pounds, out of the total annual consolidated revenue of approximately 18 million pounds from the said facility, Wockhardt added.

Last month, UKMHRA had imposed restrictions on import of medicines made at Wockhardt's Kadaiya unit for violation of norms.

Siemens saw a volume of 1.60 lakh shares, a 5.36-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 30,000 shares. The stock lost 0.49% at Rs 583.65.
