Volumes jump at Mastek counter

Bosch, CMC, Persistent Systems and Mindtree are among the other stocks to see a surge in volumes on BSE today, 20 December 2013.

Mastek clocked volume of 10.99 lakh shares by 13:27 IST on BSE, a 92.03-times surge over two-week average daily volume of 12,000 shares. The stock surged 13.85% to Rs 153.70.

Mastek during market hours today, 20 December 2013 said that it has observed that the company's share price has sharply increased with very high volumes in the first hour at trade today, 20 December 2013. "We are very much concerned about the above activity. We would like to clarify to your goodselves that there is no development in Mastek to warrant such volatility in the share price", Mastek said in a statement to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

Bosch notched up volume of 6,000 shares, a 12.32-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 491 shares. The stock surged 6.01% at Rs 9461.10.

CMC saw volume of 46,000 shares, a 9.66-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 5,000 shares. The stock jumped 5.1% at Rs 1,587.

Persistent Systems clocked volume of 69,000 shares, a 8.25-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 8,000 shares. The stock surged 5.54% at Rs 990.55.

Mindtree clocked volume of 58,000 shares, a 7.44-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 8,000 shares. The stock spurted 6.36% at Rs 1516.30.
