Volumes jump at Oil India counter

Ramco Systems, LA Opala RG, City Union Bank and Wheels India are among the other stocks to see a surge in volumes on BSE today, 5 February 2015.

Oil India clocked volume of 13.14 lakh shares by 13:40 IST on BSE, a 59.35-times surge over two-week average daily volume of 22,000 shares. The stock fell 1.37% at Rs 540.25. Crude oil prices extended yesterday's sharp losses. Decline in crude oil prices would result in lower realizations from crude sales for oil exploration firms such as Oil India.

Ramco Systems notched up volume of 1.56 lakh shares, a 47.64-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 3,000 shares. The stock jumped 15.86% to Rs 536.65. Ramco Systems reported consolidated net profit of Rs 8.03 crore in Q3 December 2014 compared with net loss of Rs 5.49 crore in Q3 December 2013. On a consolidated basis, Ramco Systems' net sales rose 41.8% to Rs 95.93 crore in Q3 December 2014 over Q3 December 2013.

LA Opala RG saw volume of 2.94 lakh shares, a 42.73-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 7,000 shares. The stock declined 2.56% at Rs 409.

City Union Bank clocked volume of 18.04 lakh shares, a 26.3-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 69,000 shares. The stock jumped 7.06% at Rs 97.10.

Wheels India saw volume of 60,000 shares, a 7.15-fold rise over two-week average daily volume of 8,000 shares. The stock spurted 16.01% at Rs 1,538.
