Volumes jump at Piramal Enterprises counter

Wabco India, Orchid Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals, Bharti Airtel and Hero MotoCorp are among the other stocks to see a surge in volumes on BSE today, 18 June 2015.

Piramal Enterprises clocked volume of 2.32 lakh shares by 12:59 IST on BSE, a 34.45-times surge over two-week average daily volume of 7,000 shares. The stock rose 0.86% to Rs 948.

Wabco India notched up volume of 10,000 shares, a 22.46-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 448 shares. The stock rose 0.58% to Rs 5,438.20.

Orchid Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals saw volume of 10.56 lakh shares, a 7.63-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 1.39 lakh shares. The stock rose 13.07% to Rs 55.80 after the company said it received approval from the US health regulator for generic anti-bacterial Gemifloxacin Mesylate tablets. The announcement was made after market house yesterday, 17 June 2015.

Bharti Airtel clocked volume of 15.34 lakh shares, a 6.13-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 2.50 lakh shares. The stock rose 2.26% to Rs 430.60.

Hero MotoCorp saw volume of 61,000 shares, a 4.09-fold rise over two-week average daily volume of 15,000 shares. The stock rose 0.28% to Rs 2,532.60.
