Volumes jump at Sun Pharma Advanced Research Company counter

Bharti Airtel, Gujarat Pipavav Port, NRB Bearings, and Finolex Cables are among the other stocks to see a surge in volumes on BSE today, 2 December 2014.

Sun Pharma Advanced Research Company (SPARC) clocked volume of 9.90 lakh shares by 13:37 IST on BSE, a 13.67-times surge over two-week average daily volume of 72,000 shares. The stock surged 10.66% at Rs 200.90 after the company after market hours on Monday, 1 December 2014 said that the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a complete response letter to its new drug application (NDA) for Latanoprost BAK-free eyedrops. While the FDA did not seek any additional information for supporting clinical data, it sought additional information on certain labeling and other deficiencies for processing the NDA. SPARC believes that this additional information request from the FDA can be addressed on priority.

Bharti Airtel notched up volume of 25.82 lakh shares, a 12.22-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 2.11 lakh shares. The stock rose 1.1% at Rs 381.80.

Gujarat Pipavav Port saw volume of 11.44 lakh shares, a 9.32-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 1.23 lakh shares. The stock advanced 1.96% at Rs 169.

NRB Bearings clocked volume of 8.14 lakh shares, a 7.56-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 1.08 lakh shares. The stock lost 0.48% at Rs 125.50.

Finolex Cables saw volume of 2.96 lakh shares, a 5.19-fold rise over two-week average daily volume of 57,000 shares. The stock rose 0.71% at Rs 261.85.
