Volumes jump at Usher Agro counter

Mangalore Chemicals and Fertilizers, Steel Strips Wheels, Biocon and KEC International are among the other stocks to see a surge in volumes on BSE today, 24 December 2015.

Usher Agro clocked volume of 12.81 lakh shares by 14:00 IST on BSE, a 47.53 times surge over two-week average daily volume of 27,000 shares. The stock jumped 19.92% at Rs 45.75.

Mangalore Chemicals and Fertilizers notched up volume of 45.41 lakh shares, a 40.8-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 1.11 lakh shares. The stock surged 19.95% at Rs 49.90. A large bulk deal of 38.85 lakh shares was executed on the counter at Rs 41.50 per share at 9:47 IST on BSE today, 24 December 2015.

Steel Strips Wheels saw volume of 1.2 lakh shares, a 28.31-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 4,000 shares. The stock spurted 11.11% to Rs 439.

Biocon clocked volume of 3.15 lakh shares, a 7.71-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 41,000 shares. The stock gained 6.21% at Rs 511.65. The company announced during market hours today, 24 December 2015 that it has introduced an advanced novel therapy CIMIVIR-L for the treatment of Hepatitis C in India.

KEC International saw volume of 8.05 lakh shares, a 7.13-fold rise over two-week average daily volume of 1.13 lakh shares. The stock declined 0.81% at Rs 153.30.
