Volumes jump at Welspun Corp counter

Divi's Laboratories, Kajaria Ceramics, Marksans Pharma and ISGEC Heavy Engineering are among the other stocks to see a surge in volumes on BSE today, 4 June 2014.

Welspun Corp clocked volume of 97.59 lakh shares by 13:24 IST on BSE, a 117.18-times surge over two-week average daily volume of 83,000 shares. The stock surged 12.43% to Rs 96.80 after the company announced during trading hours today, 4 June 2014, that Welspun Infra Developers and Welspun Fintrade being part of Welspun promoter group have acquired the entire equity shareholding held by Mulheim Pipecoatings GmbH (a co-promoter) in Welspun Corp, constituting 3.124% equity shareholding in Welspun Corp, at Rs 85.25 per share, via a block deal on BSE today.

Divi's Laboratories notched up volume of 3.63 lakh shares, a 14.83-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 24,000 shares. The stock fell 0.23% to Rs 1,236.

Kajaria Ceramics saw volume of 2.56 lakh shares, a 13.09-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 20,000 shares. The stock rose 2% to Rs 595.05.

Marksans Pharma clocked volume of 1.66 crore shares, a 12.34-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 13.51 lakh shares. The stock rose 18% to Rs 26.55.

ISGEC Heavy Engineering saw volume of 62,000 shares, a 6.70-fold rise over two-week average daily volume of 9,000 shares. The stock rose 2.83% to Rs 2,000.
