A gang of idol smugglers was busted on Sunday with the arrest of 10 people and seizure of four precious Ashtadhatu statues from their possession in Bihar's Jehanabad district, police said.
Police also seized arms and ammunition from them.
"We have arrested 10 idol smugglers, who came to Jehanabad for stealing the Ashtadhatu statues. They were planning to send these idols outside the state," a police official said.
However, those arrested were 'lower-rank' members of the gang, he said.
"We are interrogating them to collect more information to catch the main people behind this racket," the official said.
