At least 10 people were killed Wednesday in violent street clashes between the Libyan army and armed Islamic groups in different parts of the eastern city of Benghazi, military and medical sources said.
"Benghazi Medical Center on Wednesday received ten dead bodies of street war battles and clashes in the city of Benghazi," Xinhua quoted a source as saying.
Since Wednesday morning, the army units, backed by Haftar's armed supporters, have been engaged in fierce street battles with Islamic militants in different areas of Benghazi.
"The army on Wednesday continued military operations against the Islamists. However, today's operations turned into violent clashes and street battles in different parts of the city," an army spokesman said.
