At least 10 people were killed and several others injured on Friday when an under-construction wall of a stone crusher unit collapsed in a village in Haryana's Mahendergarh district, police said.
Officials said at least 20 people, injured in the incident, were rushed to hospital in Narnaul, the district headquarter town, 25 km away from the site of the incident.
Police said the mishap occured in Dholera village in south-west Haryana, close to the Haryana-Rajasthan border and nearly 400 km from the state capital Chandigarh (over 170 km from Delhi).
The district administration began an operation to rescue labourers still buried under the debris.
"An under-construction wall collapsed due to heavy rainfall in the area," Narnaul sub-divisional magistrate Mahesh Kumar said.
Most victims and injured were labourers from Rajasthan and nearby areas.
