At least 12 children of a city school were injured on Tuesday after their schoolbus overturned near Kashmere Gate in Delhi.
The accident took place around 8 a.m. when the bus carrying around 30 students of Rukmani Devi and Victoria Girls Senior Secondary schools, was speeding down the ISBT flyover.
"The bus was coming from the ISBT flyover. Some pedestrians were crossing the road and the driver in a bid to stop the bus applied brakes. He is believed to have lost control over the vehicle and overturned," said a senior police official.
The injured children were rushed to the nearby Sushruta Trauma Centre and Aruna Asaf Ali Government Hospital.
Meanwhile, Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain has directed Trauma Centre authorities to conduct a thorough and minute check-up of children.
As per Trauma Center, two children are kept under observation for minor injuries and will be discharged soon.
