At least 13 people were killed and another 10 were missing after 23 people were kidnapped by militants in Pakistan's Balochistan province, media said Tuesday.
The attackers, all dressed in uniforms of security forces, forcibly stopped two buses when they were heading from Quetta to Punjab province late Monday night without the cover of security personnel, Xinhua reported.
The terrorists took away 23 people from the two buses after checking the identity cards of the passengers. All the kidnapped passengers were from Punjab province.
Police said 13 bodies from those among the kidnapped people were recovered early Tuesday and 10 others were still missing.
Earlier, the militants tried to stop the same two buses in Mach area, but were intercepted by the Frontier Corps (FC) personnel.
The attackers fled after a brief exchange of fire with FC personnel who escorted the buses. One FC man was killed and another was wounded.
Chief Minister of Balochistan province Abdul Malik Baloch has ordered a search for the missing people and early arrest of the attackers.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
