At least 19 persons were killed on Thursday when the bus they were travelling in plunged into a deep gorge in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir, a police officer said here.
The officer said 34 other passengers were injured when the bus skidded off the road at Guru Nanak Chowk of Reasi, some 80 km from here.
Fourteen of the injured are critical, the officer said. They have been shifted to a hospital in Jammu.
The bus was allegedly crowded beyond its capacity, and was on the way from Reasi to Bakal village when it rolled down into the deep gorge.
