1984 riots: Gurgaon victims gets compensation

Fortytwo survivors of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots have got Rs 12.07 crore in financial compensation in all, an official said on Monday.

This follows the recommendations of the Justice T.P. Garg Commission. The victims hailed from Gurgaon and Pataudi areas.

The cheques were distributed to the victims at a gurudwara here on Sunday by Naseem Ahmed, Chairman of the National Minorities Commission.
