A 2-year-old boy died in Gurgaon after falling into an open sewer here on Thursday afternoon, police said.
A few families from the blacksmith community have been living near a school in sector 47 of Gurgaon.
Police said the child fell into the sewer while playing nearby.
One of the family members saw the child falling and raised an alarm. The victim was taken out and rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him dead.
Family members of the victim protested against the negligence of officials.
