At least 40 people were missing when a bus fell into a river in Himachal Pradesh's Shimla district on Wednesday, police said.
The private bus was on its way to Tunni village in Shimla district, from Vikas Nagar in neighbouring Uttarakhand, when it skidded off the road and fell into the Tons river.
The accident occurred in Gumma in Nerva tehsil, some 150 km from the state capital.
The police said 56 passengers, mostly locals, were in the bus.
