An earthquake measuring 7.0 on the Richter scale jolted Chile, the US Geological Survey said Monday.
The quake shook an area 68 km west of Iquique. The epicentre, with a depth of 33.0 km, was determined to be at 19.9 degrees south latitude and 70.7 degrees west longitude.
