At least 80 people were injured when two passenger trains collided near Berea suburb in South African's Durban city Tuesday evening, authorities said.

Emergency Service ER24 spokesperson Derrick Banks told media that the passengers, sustained minor to moderate injuries, had been shifted to various hospitals, Xinhua reported.

Metrorail spokesperson Dumi Dube said no death have been reported.

The collision could have been caused by faulty signals on one of the trains, the official added.
