At least 95 militants have been killed over the past 24 hours in a series of operations carried out by the Afghanistan army across the country, Interior Ministry said on Monday.

The operations have covered parts of Nangarhar, Uruzgan, Ghazni and Herat provinces during which four other militants were also arrested, Xinhua news agency quoted the ministry statement as saying.

However, the statement did not say if there were any casualties on security personnel.

Taliban militants who are active in the provinces have not made any comment.
