Punit Pathak, last seen in Remo D'Souza's dance film "ABCD - AnyBody Can Dance", is set for the sequel. The actor-choreographer says part two of the film, which is now in the scripting stage, will be a "notch higher".
"The dates or the script is not finalised, but when 'ABCD' was being released, Remo sir and UTV had announced (the sequel). It will go a notch higher than 'ABCD'," Punit told IANS.
Punit played a drug addict in the film and he is happy that his acting was appreciated by everyone.
"My acting was also appreciated by everyone. It was a stepping stone for me," he said.
The actor said that he would love to try out a romantic or an action film next.
"I would love to try out everything. I am just a new person in the industry. I would love to do an action and romantic role," he said.
Punit is especially keen to take the path taken by Bollywood superstar Ranbir Kapoor.
"I want to follow Ranbir Kapoor who is a superstar, but at the same time he is a good actor too. If you look at him in 'Wake up Sid' or 'Rockstar' or 'Barfi!', his performances are all so different," he said.
The actor is currently busy with preparations for dance reality show "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa", where he will be seen as a choreographer to a celebrity contestant. Once that is over, he will audition for different acting roles.
"I am looking forward to it, but nothing has come as of now. I need to audition and see. After 'Jhalak...', I will try and meet more people," he said.
Prior to "ABCD", Punit was seen in TV reality show "Dance India Dance".
