The 40 Indians abducted in Iraq are safe and are in a government building, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said Thursday.
"The 40 men are safe... When the situation normalises, we will try to get them released," she said after meeting a delegation of families of seven of the Indians. The minister didn't disclose their location.
The workers, employed by a Turkish construction firm, were kidnapped in Mosul, one of the cities taken over by Sunni insurgents.
