Top seed Shaik Abdullah of Andhra Pradesh defeated unseeded Anshu Bhuyan of Odisha 6-4, 4-6, 7-6(4) to enter the final of men's singles competition in the 2015 Central Excise Open Grass Court Tennis Championship here Friday.
Abdullah will now face last year's champion Vijay Kannan of Tamil Nadu, who beat Anvit Bendre from Maharashtra 6-3, 6-2 at the Central Excise Athletic Club.
In the women's singles, local girl Amrita Mukherjee drubbed unseeded B. Moulika Ram of Andhra Pradesh 6-3, 6-3 to enter the final.
She will entertain eighth seed Preethi Ujjini of Karnataka, who brushed aside Tamil Nadu's Nithya Raj Baburaj 6-4, 6-4.
In the men's doubles category, top seeded pair of Shaik Abdullah and Anvit Bendre was crowned the champions, beating unseeded Delhi-Mizoram duo of Ankit Sachdeva and Basil Khuma 6-3, 6-3.
In the women's doubles, Amrita Mukehrjee paired up with Andhra Pradesh's Theertha Iska to win against Maharashtra's Tanasha Khandpur and Gujarat's Saumya Vig 6-1, 6-2.
