Five years after he made his directorial debut with Tamil sports drama "Vennila Kabbadi Kuzhu", filmmaker Suseenthiran's next outing in the same language will be around cricket.
"Cricket will be an important character of my film. The story will revolve around the game and the characters in it. I can't reveal anything more at this moment. The film will go on floors soon," Suseenthiran told IANS.
Vishnu Vishal, who worked with Suseenthiran in his directorial debut, has been roped in to play the role of a cricketer in the film.
"I started my career with him and we have been good friends since then. I was supposed to do a film with him two years back but it didn't work out. Since he is a good cricket player in real life, I couldn't think of anyone else to essay the role," he added.
In the 2013 edition of Celebrity Cricket League, Vishnu scored the highest runs. He was member of the Chennai Rhinos team.
Manisha Yadav has been roped in to play the female lead, while the rest of the cast for the film will be finalised soon.
Meanwhile, Suseenthiran's "Vennila Kabbadi Kuzhu" is currently being remade in Hindi as "Badlapur Boys".
