Anju Singh, the daughter-in-law of a Congress corporator, was found hanging in the bathroom of her home here Sunday, police said Monday.
Anju's parents have accused the corporator and his family of harassing her and making repeated dowry demands.
Anju's husband Pradeep Singh, a dentist, denied all charges and called it baseless.
A police official said that "the body was found hanging".
"We will wait for the post mortem (examination) report today (Monday)."
Kripal Shankar, a police official, said an inquiry was on.
Anju married Pradeep 18 months back.
